Version 1 Version 2Tuning: Standard This is the capo version of Cornerstone chords by Robert Farell that was submitted by MyNameIsRamone. Thanks a lot you two for making and submitting this tab here. I think it would be a lot easier for some novice player to play this song without the bar chords :) so i made the capo version of it. But i still can’t figure out how to play the Cm while placing your capo on the 2nd fret so I guess you still have to play the chord like this: Cm: (335543) CAPO ON 2nd FRET Guitar 1 (Alex Turner) [Intro] G [Verse 1] G I thought I saw you in the battleship C Am but it was only a look-a-like G She was nothing but a vision trick C Am Under the warning light Em G Em She was close, close enough to be your ghost G But my chances turned to toast C Am G (Em G Em) When i asked her if i could call her your name G I thought I saw you in the rusty hook C Am Huddled up in a wicker chair G I wandered over for a closer look C Am And kissed who ever was sitting there Em G Em She was close, and she held me very tightly G 'Til I asked awfully politely, please C Am G Can I call you her name. (To transition into the chorus play this; G Em G Em Em, listen out for the strumming) [Chorus] C Am And I elongated my lift home, Em C Yeah, I let him go the long way 'round Am I smelt your scent on the seatbelt D And kept my shortcuts to myself G C Am (Come in with G at the end of the chorus and play these chords like in the verse) [Verse 2] G I thought I saw you in the parrots beak, C Am Messing with the smoke alarm, G It was too loud for me to hear her speak, C Am And she had a broken arm, Em G Em It was close, so close that the walls were wet G And she wrote it out in letra-set C Am Bm No, you can't call me her name [Bridge] G Bm Tell me where's your hiding place G Bm I'm worried I'll forget your face Em And I've asked everyone Am D I'm beginning to think I imagined you all along [Chorus] C Am And I elongated my lift home, Em C Yeah, I let him go the long way 'round Am I smelt your scent on the seatbelt Cm And kept my shortcuts to myself [Solo] G C Am x2 (Play this like you would in the verse) Em Am C D [Verse 3] G I saw your sister in the cornerstone C Am On the phone to the middle man G When I saw that she was on her own C Am I thought she might understand Em G She was close, well you couldn't get much closer Em G C She said i'm really not supposed to but yes, Am G You can call me anything you want. (Fade out)
